    Default Toothpaste reaction

K, so i brush my teeth twice a day, and whenever the toothpaste gets in contact with my tongue i get this... sort of mild stinging [like you've eaten something sour] and about a quarter of my tongues buds go bright red.

When i wash it out its fine again, but it happens with all toothpastes, and i was wondering what to do, as it gets quite annoying.

try using mouthwash as well.... not sure what it could be... might be a sensitive tounge but at the same time you might be getting tiny cuts on your tounge from foods.

i'll look it up later on =)

if its all toothpastes, then it must be an ingredient in it. just use mouthwash or if you dont like that, go to your dentist for more information.

I'd ask your Dentist or GP about it.

I think it's normal. I get it too, I think it depends what sort of toothpaste you use though. Whether it's whitening, enamel booster, strong mint. I'm sure it's nothing, but if you get too worried - I'd ask your dentist.

    I think it's your tastebuds.
Your salavia varies on what you put into your mouth.
Toothpaste has a different reaction with different things.
If you eat fizzy sweet's etc then it could have caused it.
Atoms stay in your salvia for up to 6 months.
