They've said themselves, rs2 engine is really good and will last for quite awhile. Expect RS3 to come out in 5 years.

RS was changed to RS2 because of the massive engine update. They have no need to update it again.

Btw, the robot/humans with guns looks very similar to the Tau in warhammer. Guns are very similar, so are the designs on the body.
