Read or Die is AMAZING. One of my favourites despite being only 3 episodes long. I love the characters, story, action, fights, setting, animation, everything! I also like the fact that it has historical references within the anime aswell, it makes them SO amazing, you actually want to check them out after. Did I mention I liked the action and fights? :8 The fight with Genjo in episode 2 - Awesome!
I have yet to see Paranoia Agent but all I've heard about it is praise. Everyone I know who has seen it has absolutely loved it. I've heard many people say that Paranoia Agent is the only anime that can be called a true piece of art.
I haven't seen Pale Cocoon yet, but it seemed very interesting to me.
It has been many years since a group of humans retreated to an artificial colony above the planet surface. The colorful world that used to exist was ruined by human foolishness, making it uninhabitable. Much of recorded history before the move has been forgotten, despite the numerous advances in technology. The last remaining information lies in a vast archive of data, much of it in corrupted formats. Determined to recover this precious information, the "Archive Excavation Department" works specifically to restore as much of it as possible. Long ago, the Department used to be excited and full of energy. Now, people know that knowledge of the lost past can bring only sadness.
Ura, a particularly motivated member of the department, works long hours to recover history. Riko has lost her passion and desire to know. Then one day, Ura comes upon a record that once decoded, completely changes the way he sees his world.
You might not like them much, based on the kind of animes you do like, but they're worth checking out whatever you like.
Wow, this was TIME ago! I have seen Paranoia Agent and Pale Cocoon now, and Paranoia Agent is near perfection. It's extremely original and unlike anything else, and Pale Cocoon I liked even better than Paranoia Agent, despite it being only one episode long. Pale Cocoon is as well, extremely original and unlike anything else, the animation is beautiful and the story is fantastic for only being 30 minutes long. I've seen it a few times now, and never get bored of it. It's one of my favourite OVA's ever, and one of the few animes I'd give a ten out of ten.Read or Die is AMAZING.
