Any Anthony Horowitz, I've read a lot of them to recommend - Alex Rider, Horowitz Horror (& More Horowitz Horror), The Switch, Groosham Grange (& Return to) & The Diamond Brothers.

The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins - Hunger Games, Catching Fire and recently released ending novel, Mockingjay.

The World War II novels following a Jewish boy who lives in Nazi Germany - Once, Then & Now by Morris Gleitzman are simply overpowering books; easy to read and understand yet meaningful.

The Midnight Library series ghost-written by different authors every time under the name Nick Shadow - (I've read like 8 of them, not sure of theres more); sort of like Goosebumps, Bone Chillers, Shivers (which I also recommend) or any other Children's Horror Books but instead, theres three short stories (like 40 pages each?) per book but its still a quick, easy and great read nevertheless.

You should read The Hunger Games series. There are very good books!
