she's on a small label in the US? i street-teamed for her a couple of months back, which means she's on a pretty big label since i only work for warner/atlantic.i wouldnt call her "far from indie." she's on a fairly small label in the U.S. that only host a few musicians (some of whom, like art brut and cold war kids are considered part of the indie scene).

she's on atlantic in the u.k., she's on downtown records in the u.s., which is a small subsidary of atlantic and warner.
all nme does is rape the klaxons.
the klaxons are crap.
Most of the bands featured in nme have a plugger behind them so that is why they are getting the attention of nme and nme are basicly tiold what to say about them by their plugger.
pitchforkmedia.com called flogging molly a post-grunge band.yeah, i hate nme too. they're so close-minded and hype-crazy. they gave "blueberry boat" by fiery furnaces, an incredibly creative and fun album, one star. i was mad when i saw that.
while a lot of people hate them because they're a bit elitist, pitchforkmedia.com probably has the best perspective on the music world today, especially indie.
haha, ive never even seen them cover flogging molly. they have some bad genre habits. especially coining genre names then acting like it's a huge scene (i dont think there's any other "freak folk" band other than animal collective)
