Has anybody read 1984 by George Orwell? We read an extract from it in English, and it looked really cool, so I decided to buy the book. I've just finished it and I must say it's really good! It's where Big Brother was created from. It was written in 1948 and is about how London is being watched by a man called Big Brother - like on the tv programme they made out of it . I would suggest it to anyone!

I've read the sequel: 1985. It was written in the 60s (I think) and it's garbage. Nobody else seems to have read the sequel, though.

I've been told to read George Orwells books by a lot of people (Animal Farm and 1984... I think).
I haven't gotten around to it... But they are something I do plan on reading eventually.

I've read it! I think it's good, certainly makes you think.
I've also read Animal Farm, I personally prefer that to 1984
