Default Possibly switching six form? Advice? [+REP]

    Hey.

I'm thinking of switching six form to go to one where I believe I will get a better education.

Thing is, I'm really happy at the moment with my friends but believe I'm wasting a lot of time during free periods and sometimes even during lessons. and a couple of my teachers are terrible.
I could go to this new school and be a loner and unhappy but would probably get a better education.

Just worried as 2 years is a long time to be unhappy. Current school has been placed in special measures by ofsted and is due to be turned into an academy in the next year...

What would you do if you were in my shoes?
It's not as easy as it sounds to just go to the school with the better education.

    +REP to helpers.

Your education is more important then your friends. If you don't switch, you'll regret it when you get crap results.
    eek.

Yeah, your friends will leave you eventually to pursue their own careers and whatnot. You owe it to yourself to get the best advantage you can!

Although you mention free periods and I get free periods. I thought everyone in a 6th form gets free periods (unless you took 5 AS levels).

Yeh I know they do but I get a huge amount (9 a week!) even though I do 4 AS levels. And there's not really anywhere to go and work in them, most computer rooms are booked for lessons and we don't really have a common room or study room.

Maybe you could use books, libary and spend your freetime revising.

You need to be 100% certain that the move to another 6th form is the right move for your needs. Have you checked out this other 6th form thoroughly? If you honestly believe you will be better educated there, then don't waste time, and get yourself sorted. You will make new friends and those that want to stay in touch with you, will do
