itunes chart is probably like 80% of the downloads that contribute to the actual chart

I mean like how they work out the iTunes #1 because people keep yappin about popularity but surely it must be on amount of downloads?

the more downloads of a single/album or woteva, the higher the popularity bar will be.

if you wanna see popularity, just view the songs as a list then right click the bars at the top and select popularity. I would show you the current one but iTunes hasn't updated the list, but here's the one I did of Girls Aloud a while ago




also, for the x factor rating...

Britney's X Factor appearance pulled 12.8 million viewers meaning more than 53 percent of the entire viewing audience tuned into the UK show to see Britney's performance.

Just so you know, that's the most watched X Factor of the whole series.
