    Default [+REP] Slow startup

Right I have windows vista, before the startup was pretty quick.

But now after it says welcome... it changes as a black screen for about 1 minute and loads normally with the icons. It didn't happen before.

Anyone know what caused it? and how to fix it?

How long have you have the problem?

I know sometimes after you install Windows updates startup / shutdown times can become really slow.

    Try restarting a few times

    Try disabling some start-up programs.

Go to your start window and type up msconfig

Then go to the tab that says 'Start Up' and disable the programs you don't need to start up automatically, and programs you are find with opening manually.

Also, go to the tab that says 'Services'. FIRST, check the box that says 'Hide all Microsoft services' incase you disable an important application.

From there scroll down and disable them. You will then need to restart your PC.

    Hope it helps.
