C was only regarded as the pass mark because of O levels (gsce equivalent ages ago)
Technically A* - E are a pass and you'll get a certificate for a D, there must be something about a C though if foundation top mark is a C

okay, I got a D on one of my GCSE's, so do I put it in my CV or leave it out? :/

ADD me, I need friends! LOL
It has always been A-C for a decent pass grade. How ever, since 2007 I am sure that a D was still considered to be an incredibly acceptable grade.
+ Ye you should put it on your CV. No point in leaving a decent pass GCSE out of it.
hehe luvin' that I got to make the deciding vote. Yes. Close thread now please.
I just got the 38 over the 37 haha
i got deciding vote
And anyway.
C = PASS
B = MERIT
A = DISTINCTION
Thats how we work it
But i guess a D is fine
I didn't think it was. I got a hell of alot of D's
Used to be GraysAthChaz
well in my eyes it's a fail.. i know the national average is C and most people want A*-C grades but i think technically A*-G is pass anything but a U i think..
C for GCSE Is easy to get
Yes - who on earth voted no, and why so many? :S You can still do college courses WITH a D when the target is a C in most causes, provided you do a GCSE resit within the college. So a D in English when you want to do Philosophy is fine, provided you take a resit and fight for doing the course, otherwise they'll not put you down because they've not heard anything from you
