Also, how would they get there badge onto the server. It would cause awesome lag.

It's quite plausable for Habbo to have some form of "Make your own Badge" system. There will be pre-made images that you can select and simply lay them over eachother, it won't be anything fancy. It wont cause lag, because it could be represented by a simple string of numbers coresponding to the sprites
