    Default Cleaning up my MacBook

I have a MacBook Pro that's going on 3 years old. I'm finally cleaning up some old files to see if it will speed it up! I currently have 22 GB free lol

If it doesn't work I'm afraid I'll be buying a new one
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.

Deleting files won't speed anything up...

Just reinstall Mac OS X, it'll be like the day you got it. There's no reason why a MacBook Pro from 3 years ago can't still have a year or two of life left in it.

I really don't want to wipe it. I'd rather have 2 of them on the go so I can transfer the **** from one to the other. I have a lot of work saved on it, not to mention 8000+ songs...

Why don't you just back those files/songs onto an external hard-drive? would be much cheaper and wouldnt take too long.

Dropbox your work and legally purchase your music. Problem solved.

... you'd rather drop $1200 on a new laptop rather than spending an hour, two max, working on your current one for free... wow :|

We all know you'll just end up buying a new one anyway.
