Vladimir Putin request to Russian parliament required under country's law immediately approved, paving the way for open Russian intervention in Syria

U.S. military sources told Fox News that U.S. planes would not comply with the Russian demand.

"There is nothing to indicate that we are changing operations over Syria," a senior defense official said. "We have had every indication in recent weeks that (the Russians) were going to do something given the build-up," another defense official added. The move by Moscow marks a major escalation in ongoing tensions between the two countries over military action in the war-torn country and comes moments after Russian lawmakers formally approved a request from the country's president, Vladimir Putin, to authorize the use of troops in Syria.

President Bashar al-Assad wrote to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to request military support, and any increase in Russian presence in the country was the result of a request, the Syrian government said on Wednesday:
Any increase in Russian military support to Syria happened and is happening as a result of a request from the Syrian state.
Excellent. I like Putin more and more as time goes on, both domestically and on the world stage.

And yet our wimp leaders (Cameron, Osborne and America's Pansy-In-Chief) still want to bomb Assad who is the only one savage enough to hold a tinpot country like Syria together and stop the nutters like Islamic State from taking control. The good news is however, now that Russia is involved Obama and Co will drop all the tough talk because one thing you can be really sure about: they'll never hit or attack somebody who can smack back as Russia can if we dared.

    Hooray for Vlad.

The fact that you are supporting action by Vladimir Putin, a man who lets vast numbers of his own country live in poverty - whilst destroying perfectly safe food - is quite remarkable.

I have no idea what you're referring to although it does sound a lot like the EU agricultural policy and the effect it has had on Africa. Elaborate?

Ironic. I clearly stated his own country (as you always say that you have to put yourselves first). You are correct about the Agricultural Policy though, but it is a problem for Africa, not Europe. That's not to say I think it is right; as you know, my views are the opposite to yours on that.

Regarding the topic of Russia, I am evidently referring to the 16% of Russians below the poverty line, and the destruction of food simply because it is restricted Western goods.
