I always thought the same but it never bothered me thatttt much. I read through my posts immediately after posting them and often edit them to clarify something or change my wording but that's like maximum 2 minutes after it was first posted.

If they were extended to a couple of hours or indefinitely then it would be harder for moderators to keep track, if they check something they wouldnt necessarily think to go back! Usually in trading threads we just say post in the thread again and the posts will either be merged or will just look like an update

I guess you have a point about moderating the posts, at the moment it looks like they trading thread are done by hosting images, and then uploading another image in the same place whenever an item has been bought.
