OK I finally saw it - the whole thing was basically Amazon having a dick-measuring contest with the BBC showing off saying WE CAN DO THIS WE CAN DO THIS LOOK AT ALL THE MONEY WE SPENT

I don't understand how Amazon is going to cover the costs of it?? The whole series is apparently £160m which translates to 2mil new paying customers to cover the costs... and are 2 million people really gonna pay £69 just to see the GT?

I wouldn't pay to watch it but I use my dad's Prime account to.

It was funny but really flashy, felt unnecessarily showing off to me.

It's like any big show - Example: Game of Thrones, costs a lot of money to produce.

Amazon has a lot of money to spend on shows and products like this - Will they get 2 million new subscribers? No. A lot of people are already Amazon prime members which can be done monthly or yearly. The show will bring a good audience with them as the 3 guys are popular not just in the UK but the whole world.

Plus if they start selling any sort of merchandise = More money for them.

DHL seem to be part of it as well, not sure if Amazon are paying them or they are a sponsor whoknows.

I think Amazon are releasing their Prime TV or even just The Grand Tour to 200+ countries by the end of year and that was announced by Clarkson, Hammond and May. But even so, I believe Amazon being nice people they are did not region lock the show.
