Even though it worked well for Harry Potter, there is some books that shouldn't have been turned into films.
Is there any books you loved, that were ruined when they became a movie or a tv show?

The mortal instruments lol the film was an abomination and the netflix series was even worse couldn't even sit through one episode
Anddd the maze runner, couldn't watch all of that either
Some of my best comtemporary references of 'movies that shouldn't exist' are DIVERGENT and the incomplete PERCY JACKSON series, mainly due to their infidelities and plot changes. THE HOBBIT is ok but the attempt of converting +/- 350 pages in a trilogy looks kind of ZZZZ
The good side of the films is that they help to promote the act of reading, even by accident, even if one will only read a single best seller on his/her lifetime!

Fifty Shades Of Grey was stupid as a movie, it wasn't even a good read, gosh only knows how it managed to get onto the big screen.
Absently Liked
The Hobbit was ruined, Damnation Alley was ruined, Interview With The Vampire was ruined, Time Traveler's Wife was ruined... Prob plenty more
The shinning film is overrated especially when compared with the book

We part, only to meet again. 12/11/04
I am going to say The Twilight Saga.
I never read the book but ever since they hyped up the movie back then I always hated the film even though I never saw it.
{Until I watched bits and pieces of it few days ago recently}
One day I will consider to read the book. I honestly believe it is a good book. Just that the movie made me judge it.
Last two narnia films; prince caspian and voyage of the dawn treader. Also the lucky one even if it does have zac efron.
