I don't know if anyone's been paying any attention to it (the whole situation with same-sex marriage has evolved so quickly politically in Germany over the past few months) but the Bundestag are going to vote tomorrow on same-sex marriage. The only party who oppose/opposed it were Angela Merkel's party hence why it hasn't been legalised in the past, and now Merkel's view on it seems to have changed so it looks set to pass.
They're going to vote about 7:30am UK time, it will be very, very surprising if it does not pass. I also believe that the support for same-sex marriage in Germany is around 85% based on the most recent poll, which is astonishingly high.
Oh here's the BBC article about it but it's from a few days ago when no-one expected it was going to happen this quickly http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-40416126
