Hardy, they said, had a "tremendous life" and "a giant career in theatre, television and film spanning more than 70 years". He was also known for numerous portrayals of Sir Winston Churchill. In more recent years, he appeared as Cornelius Fudge, the Minister for Magic, in four of the Harry Potter films.

Hardy was made a CBE in 1981 for services to acting. He died at Denville Hall, a retirement home for actors in the outskirts of London.
I was shocked nobody posted this while I have been away.

Funnily enough I was only reading on him not long ago and was shocked to find out he was 91 years of aged. He looked, sounded and evidently until his last years acted like he was in his 60s. Talk about youthful.

RIP.
