I liked it. I thought there were so many scares in quick succession that you fast become desensitised to them, but at the same time I appreciate that it wasn't so subtle because some sequences are really quite shocking and impressive. Anything with Pennywise was great, and I thought the projector scene was terrific. The opening sequence was very striking, and I feel it sets the tone for the rest of the film. Been a while since there has been a really great, full-on horror that is actually scary. I was the only one to see it alone in my cinema.
The sequel has already been announced for September, 2019.

another person here who hasn't seen the original! I thought it was really good - would describe it more as creepy rather than scary though.
but.... (spoiler)....
how unnecessary did ripping the kids arm off seem, though?!
Folks need to understand that IT is an adaptation of the (incredible) novel, not a rehash of the TV mini series from 1990, which itself was an adaptation of said novel.
What happens to Georgie in the opening is exactly how it happens in the book.
The movie IT was so good
It reminded me of the movie The Goonies but scary style.
I never saw the old IT movie but this story was well written and the movie picture was good. Some movies are too dark looking scenes. You wonder if there was ever a sunny day in the film because it has nothing but cloudy days. LOL but this one had light and dark moments. The storyline about the teens fears was good too.
Did you all laugh at IT's little O'l dance? That was TOO FUNNY!
Ha Ha: D
