I saw it yesterday, thought it was great but there was also some parts that didn't sit right with me..
I loved how they handled him being outed. It is 100% his choice, how he did it, how he said, etc. so I'm glad they made sure that his speech to Martin included those things and it wasn't something that was simply brushed aside once it happened. I also love how his dad handled his coming out and apologised for the jokes that he made, they weren't in anyway bad jokes but he still apologised which was great
I didn't agree with how his friends handled the whole situation. I understand they were annoyed that he messed with their feelings but he was outed by someone else and they left him to deal with that by himself without any consideration into how people would react at his school. They never apologised to him for that either, I think he was the only one who said sorry which wasn't right.
I agree with you. He is a nice person and apologizing should go both way.
