yes it''s dinner for others (or some call it tea). from what i've gathered, in english, the word "supper" can mean both a light meal/snack in the late evening or the last "main" meal of the day.
when i was learning english they taught me to use the word "tea" for the evening meal and "dinner" for lunch. but then we had a new teacher midway who then said that afternoon meal = "lunch" and evening meal = "dinner" and that swap confused my little brain so much that i ended up looking up the translation for the welsh word "swper" and using that word for the evening meal.
hope this makes sense cos typing on my phone is hard!!!
