    The motorbikes (especially the red one) are likely modelled after the ones in Akira.

    Yeah, the bike is illustrated really wonderfully in both the film and the manga. Spielberg included it recently in Ready Player One — I guess it has become rather iconic.



    Somebody even made a real life version, just without the speed!

    I always thought on those low down "futuristic" type bikes you lay belly down, can see better that way like in sidecar racing which is HILARIOUS AND DEADLY
