Default Silly plans you had as a child

What's a silly plan you had for when you were older, as a child?

I remember thinking that when I got a job, I would literally buy tubs of ice cream all the time and just keep eating it. As it so happened, my sweet tooth has largely disappeared and I rarely eat ice cream - I grew up.

    Anyone else have a story?

I used to always think I'd own a sweet shop, literally only so I could eat all the sweets, i wanted it to be a mini version of willy wonka's chocolate factory, but with only the sweets I liked (I like most sweets though). I of course had no concept of money but thought it would be really popular and full of people in 1950's clothing...

About twenty years ago, my cousin and I planned to go to Jamaica when I turned eighteen. Never happened.

another is when i was a kid i used to BIZZARELY love council flat towers from like the 1960s. thought they were so cool and said i would want to live in one when i was older on the top floor.

now i cheer whenever i see one being dynamited as they're clearly a menace to urban design and good planning

That's an exact description of where I lived for a couple of years when I was a kid, back in the late 90s. The abode itself was actually really nice, had an upstairs and everything. It was basically a house, only in a high-rise flat. I wouldn't mind living in a high-rise again, but it would absolutely have to be a modern one.

I'm in agreement with Prince Charles when he says that 60s town planners did more damage to our cities and towns than the German Luftwaffe.

Liverpool pulled down thousands of fine Georgian townhouses and Victorian terraces and replaced them with 60s concrete towers, surrounded by a desolate park. It ripped communities apart and aided social decay - people stranded in these windswept places miles from shops/amenities.
