    Default UK School Assembly Anthems

    Well, I was reading a news article last night about classic songs we used to sing back in primary school assembly in the UK. Who remembers belting out these classic tunes?!

    Number 1; Lord of the Dance

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    Number 2; He's Got The Whole World in His Hands
    Probably the most well known is He's Got The Whole World in His Hands
    ~~~~~~~~~~~

    Number 3; Autumn Days

    Autumn Days is probably the one you don't remember singing but when you listen to it, it all comes back to you!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    Number 4; Give Me Oil In My Lamp
    Probably another iconic one would have to be Give Me Oil In My Lamp
    ~~~~~~~~~~~

    Number 5; Colours of Day

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    Number 6; One More Step Along The World I Go
    ~~~~~~~~~~~

    - - - Updated - - -

    Number 7; Cauliflowers Fluffy

    Probably the one you're mostly thinking "do I actually know this?" Well listen, I'm pretty sure it'll all come back to you! This one brings back so many memories!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    Number 8; Shine Jesus Shine
    ~~~~~~~~~~~

    Number 10; Kumbaya My Lord

    Probably the one most people remember is Kumbaya My Lord.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    - - - Updated - - -
    Now, a couple of little extra ones you might remember, such as Morning Has Broken, When I Needed A Neighbour, The Ink is Black and This Little Light of Mine
    Let me know which ones you remember!
    Holy moly Autumn days!!! NO I MUSTNT FORGETTTTT TO SAY A GREAT BIG THANK YOU OH I MUSTNT FORGETTTT
    The other one not here that I remember so vividly was We Wanna See Jesus Lifted High. Never really thought about the fact we weren’t a religious school at all but would always sing hymns in assembly...
    Remember all of these too well! They seem so much catchier now though for some reason.
    One I could add would be "This is the day" Which my school particularly liked for some reason
    I know a few you posted, not loads though.
    We had these that I remember:
    I loved this one:
    We sung this one a bit faster and not as dramatic as this:
    I swear we sung this as 'Allah' Father:
    We used to sing this as a round with the 4 different years:
    I went to a C of E junior school by the way, so we always used to go to church and everything there too.
    I also went to a Christian youth group for 7 years (7-15) and Sunday school at the same place for a few years, so I know more (I know a stupid amount of facts about the bible and I don't even know how I remember it).
    I want to say that the youth club wrote their own songs. I remember it being something like "39 books in the Old Testament, but only 27 in the new"
    We also had a song called Special (or S P E C I A L) - Jesus loves me when I'm tall, Jesus loves me when I'm small, Jesus loves me when I'm wide, Jesus loves me SPECIAL, S P E C I A L, S P E C I A L, S P E C I A L, Jesus loves me SPECIAL.
    We also had (not in this tune):
    We also had something like this, but the lyrics/tune is different:
    Ours was, "Jesus loves me this I know, because the Bible tells me so, John 3:16 tells me that God sent his son to save the world, if I believe that Jeeeesus, died on Calvary, I shall not die, but have eternal life.
