Emir Nawaf I of Kuwait dies aged 86

Short 3-year reign comes to an end with his 83-year-old brother succeeding him as Emir Mishal I

The new Emir is the 17th ruler of the Emirate since it was founded in 1752.

Kuwait still practices inheritance of the throne from brother to brother, so in recent years (and going forward) there are likely to be a series of very short reigns with elderly descendants taking the throne. Unless they rectify this like the Saudis have done.
