The King and The Princess of Wales were both discharged from hospital today.

His Majesty is not expected to do any public royal duties (other than official business sitting) for a month, while Her Royal Highness will be out of action now until after Easter.

Nothing, the release of The King's condition as an enlarged prostate was highly unusual.

Prince Edward, Duke of Kent (age 88) and Princess Alexandra (age 87) have effectively retired from physical public duties over the last year or two because of increasing frailty. He pulled out of the Cenotaph service back in November due to "mobility issues" (the same explanation given for Queen Elizabeth II's cancelled appearances in 2022) and you could see in the Coronation photos that Princess Alexandra was effectively being held up by Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh and Princess Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.

There's rumours that Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie of York might be brought in to perform public duties soon given the Wales's children aren't going to be doing public duties for at least another decade. The burden of patronages/charities/public duties in fewer ageing members of the family is apparent and only going to get worse until the Wales's children join the fold.

The Prince of Wales is no longer attending the Service of Thanksgiving for his godfather, King Constantine II of Greece, where he was due to give a reading.

I understand this is due to a personal matter, but The Princess of Wales continues to be doing well.

Princess Alexandra (87 years old) spotted in a wheelchair for the first time too.

Unusual given royals don't tend to like appearing in wheelchairs given the media storm over Princess Margaret back in the day.
