Post counts from "forum games" section

Take a look at the forum games section, and all you see is a few words per post, which don't contribute anything to the forum except for the fact that they allow other people to reply again and raise their post counts more. In terms of how useful or how relevant any of it is, it's less so than the spam forum or the VIP subforums, and yet people are still able to pump up their post counts simply by hanging around in that dungeon of a category.

Whilst I'm not personally one to care too much for post count (seeing as how most of my posts are in spam/VIP) I think it's pretty wrong that people can spend a couple of days in a category which is usually active (likely due to the fact that the following is possible) and get their post count and rep powers up far quicker than would usually be the case. This, along with them having bought VIP as a lot of them do, allows them to give off the impression that they are somehow important or a useful member, and generally seems to turn them into a type of person which I can't say on here due to the filter.

Therefore, I would petition that the "forum games" area be made to not increase posts counts, so as to counter the problem of absolute fools thinking they're bigger than they really are. This isn't an entirely selfish proposition as I'm sure I probably stand to lose a few posts from my sporadic times spent there in boredom, but hell boredom's all that that area should be used for; not for raising post counts.

No, less meaningful conversation and debating goes on in forum games than it does in spam, so I don't see why spam posts shouldn't count while forum games do.

& i think all the posts made in forum games before now should be removed from people's post counts. it would be funny to see them **** out over it

This is similar to an idea I had here, almost everyone agreed then, so I think it's obvious something needs to be done! I am in full agreement .

Perhaps if they just closed the section and hid it so people dont lose the posts because that will really annoy people, but yea I agree some people post there just to get their post counts up and not to have fun. I bet the section would be half as popular.

Hmm Ive just noticed someone not naming names has posted like 100-200 times already today and replying to his own posts, I think this should happen soon because it is really unfair towards those making real posts.

I dont see how it matters to you are you taking this as some kindof competition. Let people do what they want to do and mind your own business. I post in the forum games because its fun and i like reading what people post. And usually the forum games are for one word posts.

Yeah that's what my idea was originally. Close the Forum and hide it, keep all the threads and posts and create a new Forum games section where post count doesn't rise .

i guess that would be a compromise, i dont see why it matters though really as some members do actually like playing the sames and it's something to do for them as well as contributing to the forum n ive forgot what else i was gonna say now o wel

If it doesn't matter to you then there should be no objection to either mine or Garion's proposition. You mention the forum games are for one word posts usually, and I don't see how that's at all useful while spam (in which most of the drama gets sorted) doesn't do anything.
