Well..i've got my first driving lesson on tuesday, well its more of a "beginners" driving lesson to tell the guy and me if I should carry on learning how to drive and stuff.
I'm absolutely bricking it, what should I expect?

Alexandra!
They'll just basically talk you through the mechanics of the car and start you off with a few starting and stopping practices.
How long is your lesson?
I'm starting on tuesday and i'm bricking it, but I don't know why. I think i'll end up crashing the car or something .. if I get to drive one first that is. D:
Oh thats alright then..not too bad and they didn't say, they just said it was a "beginners thing" but i'm guessing like an hour?
Alexandra!
He'll show you the basics and how to control the car.
It depends on your driving instructor. My instructor took me on a long straightish road and just worked on the gears.
You should only be doing:
- Stating & Stopping
- The biting point
- Clutch Control
- Gears 1 - 3
- Reverse in a straight line
- Mirrors
Don't worry about crashing the car. Your instructor will have control over the car too![]()

It depends on the instructor and their lesson plans.
Before you do any driving, they need your license number etc. and you'll probably have to sign a contract of some sort.
On first lesson, expect your cockpit drill, how to pull out and back in. Don't expect to do much driving, but, Like I said, depends on isntructor
drink up this bottle of yeah
and P A I N T your body on me
They wouldn't make you drive far on your first lesson but you have to drive a little so you can get used to stopping and starting etc. They should take you somewhere remotely quiet anyway so there won't be too many cars around.I'm starting on tuesday and i'm bricking it, but I don't know why. My first lesson was 2 hours. I hated the fact it was so long but there was a fair bit of stuff to go over.
Depending on your instructor, you probably won't be doing a great deal of driving. You'll be shown how to move off with the biting point, basic mirror checks, changing gear, parking at the side of the road etc. Because I already knew how to move off with the bite etc my first lesson involved me driving through town!![]()
I had my first lesson last week, basically my instructor took me to a local industrial estate so there's next to no cars around and i did some basic starting and stopping and turning drills. After that i learned to park at the side of the road, the gears in more details, mirrors and obviously the biting point.
I was going quite fast at some points and i even had to drive home on the motorway LOL.
It's really good though, you'll be nervous at first and when he/she tells you to swap seats your heart will drop haha, but you get more relaxed as you drive round.
Can't wait till my next one!
as everyone else said it'll be mostly the theory of driving not actually doing it. where all the controls are etcetc, info about the tests, how to move off, use mirrors n all that stuff. i only got to drive like 100m on my first lesson then pulled up infront of a driveway even tho he told me not to 2 minutes prior(A)
