Descriptive Writing - Ends 20th August

Think you have a talent for descriptive writing? Then this is the competition for you! Every so often we will post an image of a scene - your job is to describe it to us in a style that we choose. For example, if I posted a picture of a swamp and I asked you to describe it in a negative light, you could say something like this:

The lightening crackles over the murky scene, illuminating for a second the silhouettes of the ghostly trees, bodies contorted over the dark swamp underneath. Everything is dark and hidden from view; only the observant eye can see the sinister eyes in the corner of the swamp, belonging to a thick-scaled alligator. He is poised, mid-attack, over a black bird. Its wing lays on the thick slime below, the red seeping in to deepen the muddy brown, the latest in the long line of this alligator's slain. You can almost hear the screams from the pictured birds beak, drowned out by the clap of the thunder that rolls above.
