Basics
The HxF Mole will be returning for the third time from the 10th of August to the 24th of August. We are looking for around 16-20 contestants. Applications for becoming a contestant will open around the 10th of July and contestants will be informed if they are successful around the 8th of August. General Managers, Assistant General Managers, Forum Managers and Super Moderators are not allowed to apply.
The idea of the competition is that the contestants will work together to complete a variety of tasks to win VIP to a prize fund, except that one contestant, the Mole, is trying to sabotage the tasks. The other contestants must try and figure out the identity of the Mole. The game runs in two day cycles. The first day will be the game round and consist of three tasks that the contestants must complete to win VIP. The second day is when the Execution Quiz is posted. In this quiz the contestant will answer questions about the identity of the Mole – the two (or more!) contestants with the lowest score each quiz will be executed and eliminated from the competition. So the more you know about the Mole, the more likely you are to stay in the competition.
The completion of tasks will earn VIP to the winners prize fund, this VIP will always be awarded to the winner of the whole competition (The person that scores the highest in the final execution quiz). Any VIP that isn’t won by the contestants will go into the Mole’s prize fund, and will be awarded to the Mole at the end of the competition if they remain undetected for a predetermined portion of the competition.
The amount of VIP on offer in this years competition will be confirmed in the application thread.
Individual Prize Funds
New this year is the introduction of individual prize funds. Each contestant will be able to earn small amounts of VIP individually throughout the competition, and this will also be awarded at the end of the competition. Running totals of individual prize funds will not be given out during the competition.
In previous years we have had the issue of contestants working together on execution quizzes. To try and combat this, we are going to offer a month of VIP for a contestant’s individual prize fund if they are the only person to identify the Mole successfully in an execution quiz. So if you share your answers, you won’t be able to claim this prize.
Audience Participation
We’re also introducing audience participation into the competition this year. Every time we post an Execution Quiz we will also post a poll asking ‘Who is the Mole?’. The audience will be able to vote for the contestant they think is the Mole. At the end of the competition, when we reveal the identity of the Mole, we will announce the results from each poll and one random forum member that successfully identified the Mole each execution quiz will win a month of VIP. We will have 7 execution quizzes meaning the audience can win 7 months of VIP in total.
Habbox Summer Spectacular
However, this isn’t the only thing the audience can win. The competition will be running alongside the Habbox Summer Spectacular. We are able to offer HxSS points to EVERY person that correctly identifies the Mole in an audience poll. Since it is easier to know the identity of the Mole towards the end of the competition, we will offer more HxSS points for a correct Mole prediction towards the start of the competition.
So, the points given out are as follows:
Execution 1: 400 HxSS points
Execution 2: 300 HxSS points
Execution 3: 250 HxSS points
Execution 4: 200 HxSS points
Execution 5: 150 HxSS points
Execution 6: 100 HxSS points
Execution 7: 50 HxSS points
Contestants are able to vote in the poll to claim HxSS points, but will not be included in the random draw for the month of VIP for the audience.
The Mole is not allowed to vote in the poll. However, the Mole is able to win HxSS points based on the outcome of the poll (since it would be unfair if everyone on the forum except the Mole would be eligible for HxSS points).
If the Mole’s percentage of votes in a poll is smaller than the expected percentage (So if there is 16 contestants for example, you would expect the Mole to gain 1/16 of the vote), then the Mole wins HxSS points for that round. Since it is harder for the Mole to remain undetected the further into the competition we go, the more points they will win in later execution quizzes.
The HxSS point distribution for the Mole is as follows, with the percentages given for a regular 16 contestant game (therefore the percentages may change if more contestants take part than expected).
Execution 1: 50 HxSS points (if they get less than 6.25% in the poll)
Execution 2: 100 HxSS points (if they get less than 7.14% in the poll)
Execution 3: 150 HxSS points (if they get less than 8.33% in the poll)
Execution 4: 200 HxSS points (if they get less than 10% in the poll)
Execution 5: 250 HxSS points (if they get less than 12.5% in the poll)
Execution 6: 300 HxSS points (if they get less than 16.67% in the poll)
Execution 7: 400 HxSS points (if they get less than 25% in the poll)
